DIRECT PAY

We are tremendously excited to offer a Direct Pay dermatology practice to serve Lincoln and the surrounding communities. This fresh, innovative practice model is a rapidly growing movement that has gained national attention. Our objective in bringing this type of practice model to Lincoln comes from our genuine desire to provide an exceptional level of care in a time-efficient manner; at the same time saving our patients money.

You may be wondering if a Direct Pay dermatology practice is right for you. You desire exceptional medical care with as little out-of-pocket expense as possible. However, figuring out how to find that is extremely difficult, especially when the allowable fees through your insurance company for the services provided are not easily attainable or transparent.

Here are three examples of how a Direct Pay dermatology practice can be a cost-effective alternative to a traditional dermatology practice that accepts insurance.

Example #1: You have a spot on your lower leg that has been bleeding and you are concerned that it may be skin cancer. You go to the clinic and are examined. A decision is made to perform a biopsy to assess if it is skin cancer.

The insurance-approved allowable fees are: established patient visit ($100.69), biopsy ($140.36), pathology ($77.68) = $318.73
The Direct Pay fees are: established patient visit ($75), biopsy ($50), pathology ($35) = $160.00

Example #2: You bring your daughter in for treatment of her acne and a wart on her thumb. She is examined and a treatment plan is determined. Prescriptions are given for her acne and cryotherapy (freezing) if performed to treat the wart.

The insurance-approved allowable fees are: established patient visit ($175.02), cryotherapy for wart ($150.43) = $325.45
The Direct Pay fees are: established patient visit ($95), cryotherapy for wart ($25) = $120

Example #3: You decide you want a full skin exam and several ‘age spots’ treated because they are itching. You go to the clinic and have a thorough exam and decide to treat several of the itchy seborrheic keratoses (aka: age spots) with cryotherapy (freezing).

The insurance-approved allowable fees are: established patient visit ($175.02), cryotherapy for seborrheic keratoses ($178.33) = $353.35
The Direct Pay fees are: established patient visit ($95), cryotherapy for seborrheic keratoses ($75) = $170

Direct Pay allows us the ability to care for any and all patients. We offer a simple, reasonable and transparent fee schedule. To view our Medical Fee Schedule please click here.

Our goal is to offer superior patient care and simplify your office visit experience. We are able to provide a scheduling system that is designed to reduce paperwork and provide timely appointments for your dermatologic concerns. To achieve this we will NOT be participating with Medicare, Medicaid or any private health insurance plans.

With this innovative Direct Pay model, our patients pay for their visit at the time of service. We have created our fee schedule to be reasonable and affordable. We do not require upfront initiation fees or membership fees. This makes our model different from a concierge or membership-based practice which requires those fees.

If you have a high deductible or high co-pay insurance plan, this innovative model may result in less out-of-pocket expenditures. Most private insurance plans include out-of-network benefits. At your request, we will provide you with a ‘statement of service’ that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. However, if you have Medicare or Medicaid you will not be able to be reimbursed for any of our services.

If you have questions specific to you and your family please feel free to call us during our normal business hours at 402-318-3550. We are truly excited to serve you in our new practice!
